Sensor Type: Green Constant

While the "Green" sensor type is useful for applications where a momentary sensor actuation is sufficient, other situations where it is necessary to ensure that a sensor turns on and stays on for a predetermined period of time require a the Green Constant sensor type.

A Green Constant sensor must remain actuated (ON) throughout the entire Ready Window. In order to satisfy a Green Constant sensor input, the sensor must turn on before the start, and stay on until after the end of the ready signal.

Like the standard Green sensor type, a "Failsafe" check is performed that requires the sensor to turn OFF (at least momentarily) at some point outside of the Ready Window to ensure that it's not "stuck" or shorted to ground. A typical use for the Green Constant sensor type is detecting full feed progression.

The diagrams below show examples of sensor/ready window interactions and the results.
